The head of the Constitutional Assembly, the President of Ukraine (1991-1994) Leonid Kravchuk is against the adoption by the Parliament of the bill providing criminalizing defamation.
"I think it's premature to discuss and it is not related at all to the principles of democracy, freedom and the rule of law itself. I'm against this bill," he told a briefing before the Constitutional Assembly meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.
Kravchuk believes there are no prospects for the adoption of the defamation bill and said that some of the bills are submitted to Parliament with provocative aim.
