Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych urged officials not to abuse administrative resources during the election campaign, he said at a meeting of the Council of Regions, ForUm correspondent reports.
"I would like to warn again all officials at all levels that interference in the electoral process is a violation of the law, and we will check every such fact," he said.
He recalled that the last presidential election was recognized by the international community and received positive evaluations. "This election should not be worse," Yanukovych noted.
The President also called officials to respect the will expression of all citizens. "The elections are not a sport, but the will of the citizens and people as the ultimate source of power. We should not divide voters in political categories. They are all the same," Yanukovych summed up.
As a reminder, the parliamentary elections in Ukraine are scheduled for October 28.
