Ukraine and Japan will cooperate in the field of education, the press service of the Education and Science, Youth and Sports Ministry reported.

A relevant memorandum of cooperation between the Education Ministry of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan was signed on September 18.

Parties, in particular, intend to strengthen cooperation in the exchange of students increasing a number of such students, collaborate in the preparation of textbooks and promote cooperation in research projects and their funding.

First deputy minister of education and science, youth and sports Yevhen Sulima stressed the importance of the arrangements on mutual recognition of diplomas at the state level by two countries.

First deputy minister of education, culture, sports, science and technology of Japan Miho Takai, in turn, thanked her colleague for effective cooperation in the field of higher education expressing confidence that signing of the memorandum will contribute to further strengthening of cooperation between the countries.

According to the Education Ministry, as of today, the Japanese language is taught in 12 Ukrainian universities.
