Today, the government is to consider the issue of amnesty of 1.5 thousand people, first deputy justice minister of Ukraine Inna Yemelyanova said before the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, ForUm correspondent reports.

She said that this year, according to the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine, the amnesty will get 1.5 thousand people.

"The law, which is considered at the Cabinet meeting, is the same compared with laws adopted in previous years, and it will primarily refer to the most vulnerable segments of the people," she said.

According to the first deputy justice minister, the law refers to people who committed crimes being minors, pregnant women or women who gave birth in prison, as well as people living with HIV, parents of two or more children under 18 years or those whose parents are incapacitated.
