Ukraine is interested in intensifying cooperation with the United States in the field of innovation, first deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovsky said during the meeting with U.S. Secretary of State's senior advisor for innovation Alec J. Ross on September 12, 2012 in Kyiv.

"We will welcome the growth of U.S. investments, directed at the development of innovative technologies in Ukraine," Khoroshkovsky said.

He also stressed that the U.S. is an example for Ukraine in the implementation of e-government systems. "Ukraine is actively working on the implementation of the Open Government Partnership initiative. Our goal is to ensure openness and transparency of public policy, as well as to establish effective cooperation with civil society," he said.

According to Khoroshkovsky, relations between Kyiv and Washington are strategic and should be directed at the expansion of the Ukrainian-American cooperation. "The United States is one of the leading economic partners of Ukraine. The Ukrainian-US economic and trade cooperation gives Ukraine access to the latest high technology, investment, accelerates Ukraine's integration into international structures, entry into the world economy, etc.," he stressed.
