Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych asks the managers of metallurgical enterprises to raise salaries for workers.

"I would like to ask you, what is the prospect of raising salaries on your plants, what do you need to do it?" Yanukovych asked at the All-Ukrainian meeting for supporting the real sector of the national economy, held in Dnipropetrovsk.

The President suggested that it is necessary to solve the issue of reducing production costs to increase salaries. He offered representatives of metallurgical enterprises to discuss the issue at today's meeting.
 
“We will need to raise salaries, because we have to go towards improving the quality of living standards," he said.

According to him, the size of will influence the pensions of the employees. The President pointed out that currently the minimum pension has not yet reached the minimum subsistence level.
