From the beginning of 2012, natural gas transit through Ukraine to the Western Europe has amounted to 54 billion cubic meters. Thus, compared to the same period in 2011 (70 billion 43 million cubic m.), Ukraine has reduced gas transit by 22.9%
"All the applications of consumer countries are fully met, 5.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas were transported in August," the statement says. For the last eight months, Ukrainian consumers got more than 31 billion cubic meters - 94% of the last year’s indicators.
The natural gas transit to the CIS countries remains 172 million cubic meters per month.
For eight months of 2012, imports of Russian natural gas to Ukraine decreased by 34% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 21.5 billion cubic meters.
