The association agreement with the European Union is the largest international legal document in the history of Ukraine, head of representative office of the Konrad Adenauer foundation Gabriele Baumann said, ForUm correspondent reports.
The expert added that this is the most ambitious international agreement with a third party ever concluded by the EU.
According to her, the consequences of implementation of the agreement will be complex, and large sections of the Ukrainian consumers will benefit most of all, which as a result will have access to better quality of goods and services at lower prices.
In addition, among the important socially significant results of the association, the expert expects serious improvement of the ecological environment, labor standards and increase in the life expectancy.
"With the signing of the agreement in its current form, Ukraine declares commitment to move to a new quality from the former Soviet country forced to comply with European principles under external pressure to the country that is an integral part of the civilized world, which daily practice, improve and spread its principles," the expert summed up.
