Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych addressed the heads of regional state administrations and local authorities to fight for unpaidand envelope wages, the President said during a meeting of the Committee on Economic Reforms, ForUm correspondent reported.
"You have to work with business andlarge industrial enterprises on unshadowing of the salaries. We cannot allow the envelope wages during the crisis," Yanukovych said.
He added that for the last two and a half years, the wage arrears fell by one third. However, now it amounts to 1.5 billion UAH.
The head of the state paid the government's attention to the fact that bankrupt state enterprises have the wage arrears most of all.
"Our duty is to eliminate wage arrears at these companies," he said.
