The Foreign Ministry expects Canada to simplify visa regime for the Ukrainian citizens, director of the FM press service Oleh Voloshyn told a briefing.

"We wonder why the government of Canada has not yet taken any actions to simplify visa regime for the Ukrainians. It is still hard to get visas for the Ukrainians ... We worry about this situation with Canada," he said.

According to Voloshyn, as of today, FM continues to monitor the effectiveness of visa relations with several countries.

He reminded that in 2005, Ukraine abolished unilaterally visas for citizens of many countries hoping that these countries will simplify the visa regime for Ukrainians.

Voloshin stressed that Canada is the only country that has not simplified visa receiving for Ukrainians.

He noted that the European Union has simplified the visa regime for Ukrainians, and Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and Poland have cancelled the fee for national visas, and Cyprus has implemented the electronic free visas.

In addition, according to him, Japan and Korea have decided to issue free visas, and the USA has decided to issue 5-year and 10-year visas.
