Japanese ambassador to Ukraine Toichi Sakata is pleased with the development of relations with Ukraine in the field of economy and culture, he told a press conference on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Japan.

"I consider the development of Ukrainian-Japanese relations to be very good. This is a field of the economy, and then we have a culture, science and technology spheres. I believe these fields to be the most active in our relations," the ambassador said.

Among the most successful projects, he named the construction of terminal D of the International airport "Boryspil" (Kyiv region), as well as projects of Ukraine and Japan under the Kyoto protocol.

He also reminded that from September 2011, an investment memorandum between Ukraine and Japan have been developed, which will improve the cooperation in investment and trade fields.

According to Sakata, in the near future, Ukraine and Japan will sign a memorandum on cooperation in the field of education.

In addition, for the development of relations in the sphere of culture and to show Ukrainians the Japanese traditions, Japan will hold the festival of Japanese cinema in October and event on presenting the traditional Japanese dance in November.
