In Ukraine, 86 upgraded warplanes are planned to be added to the armory, 85 warplanes and helicopters are planned to be repaired or put into operation for 2012-2017, the Defense Ministry press service informs, quoting commander of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant-General Yuri Baidak.
According Baidak, upgrading of aircraft also provides for continued service life of aircraft, their engines and equipment, and, where possible the mastering of new types of factory and military repair.
Currently, repair of Il-76 medium military transport aircrafts is being carried out. The first refurbished aircraft can be finished by the end of this year.
