Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych congratulated pupils on the beginning of the school year, the President said at specialized school № 106, ForUm correspondent reported.
"Every year, our children go to school on September 1. We prepare for this day, and we want our children to study in the best schools with the best conditions. Fist of all, this is a desire of all parents, and this task faces the government and society. This is not the issue of secondary importance, because we connect education with the future of our country," Yanukovych said.
According to the President, the government sees that only the intellectual and cultural power of young generation can build a strong country.
"The modern world requires deep knowledge and broad erudition, readiness for rapid changes and self-improvement. I emphasize that your diligence, hard work and tenacity will influence not only your success, but the future destiny of Ukraine," Yanukovych addressed young pupils.
The President noted that this year, about 4 million children went to school including more than 425 thousand first grade pupils. And this year, Ukraine will open more than 40 schools with the latest technologies.
