Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych signed an order on improvement of the rights protection and legal interests of children, the press service of the head of state reported.
The document, in particular, offers to increase funding of schools for children with special needs.
The President also instructed to take steps to create television and radio programs for young people. According to the order, the Prime Minister and chairmen of state administrations have to submit to the President the informational materials about the activities of local authorities in the field of children's rights.
The President also instructed to increase the effectiveness of crime prevention among children and take measures to reduce repeated crime.
The minister of education and science, youth and sports should improve work in rights education with children, in particular, on protection from discrimination and abuse. In the near future, all-Ukrainian conference on child rights will be held with the participation of the head of state.
