In the top central bankers rating, annually composed by the Global Finance magazine, chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov ranks along with the top bankers of Europe. Arbuzov was given estimate «B». The central bankers of the Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden and Turkey received the same rating.
The work of Arbuzov as the chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine was rated as high as the work of the Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke - they both were given the same estimate.
Moreover, the chairman of the Ukrainian National Bank was rated higher than the head of the European Central Bank Mario Draghi - he received a rating of «B-».
The Global Finance magazine has been composing the ranking of the best world central bankers since 1994. However, Ukraine was included in it in 2012 for the first time. So last year, Arbuzov was not estimated. The first attempt of Serhiy Arbuzov was successful, resulting in the second place in the ranking, despite the difficult economic and financial situation in the country and the world.
In 2012, the Global Finance rating included the heads of central banks of 50 key world countries. The highest score («A») was given to six chairmen of the central banks, and none of them are from Europe.
