Ukraine needs a single system of population registration in real-time mode. To create such system, it is necessary to form the single state demographic register, MP Vasyl Hrytsak said.
He added that Ukraine's integration with the European Union requires a common harmonization of the demographic legislation and the existing practice of civil registration. "It is interconnected with the requirements of Brussels due to the simplification of visa regime with the EU. Thus, the mandatory requirements include the introduction of travel documents with electronic media of biometric information according to the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization. And one of the key provisions of the agreement with the European Union is the protection of personal data of individuals at the current level of safety," the MP continued.
Vasyl Hrytsak stressed that among other things, the new registry will create a single national scheme of migration management, as well as help to see all social subgroups up to the smallest. "And this is important for the state policy including preparation of the state budget. I believe the law to be adopted in October," the MP summed up.
