This year, a new part of preventive work on early detection of risk factors of child’s consumption of alcohol, drugs and tobacco will be introduced, head of maternal and children’s health department of the Health Ministry Olena Tereshchenko told a press conference today, ForUm correspondent reports.
She explained that parents will get a questionnaire to answer some questions about their child and his behavior. After filling the form, parent has a right to give it to doctor or to leave at home. Meanwhile, the doctor is obliged to tell what answers mean and what risks exist for each individual child.
According to her, if parents give the questionnaire to doctor, he must study answers. "If he notices the risk factors, he will involve a narcologist, child neurologist or a child psychiatrist to help the family and neutralize the risk factors," she stressed.
