Over the past two years the number of school-aged children with impaired vision, posture and supporting-motor apparatus decreased, head of Healthcare Ministry maternal and children’s health department Olena Tereshchenko told a press conference today, ForUm correspondent reports.
She reported that it has been a consequence of the introduction of new approaches to medical examinations. "Following the results of medical examinations, the parents are given a certificate, which clearly states what a child should do and what recommendations of physician should perform till the next examination. For the first time, the parents begin to listen to the advice of doctors and follow them," she said.
Meanwhile, she stressed that lately, the structure of children’s morbidity have not changed. "Diseases of the digestive system occupies the first place on the prevalence, the second place- the respiratory system diseases, the third - eye diseases. The endocrine system and the supporting-motor apparatus share the fourth and the fifth places," the doctor said.
