Ukrainian defense minister Dmytro Salamatin and secretary of the CIS Council of defense ministries Alexander Sinaisky discussed the state and prospects of cooperation.The meeting took place in Kyiv on Wednesday, Aug. 29, the defense ministry's press service reported.
"The parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between the defense ministry of Ukraine and the Council of defense ministers of the CIS and possible directions of multilateral cooperation with the CIS defense ministers in the defense sector," the press service said.
"We are open to any kind of cooperation within the CIS, which doesn't contradict the non-aligned status of our country and the Constitution of Ukraine," Salamatin said.
