Deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine Andriy Mahera does not rule out litigation relating to the draw for members of the district electoral commissions, he told a press briefing after the CEC meeting, ForUm correspondent reports.

Commenting on the statements of some politicians about their intention to appeal against the draw results in court, Mahera said: "This is the right of parties to go to court, and nobody can restrict this right".

At the same time, he stressed that the electoral legislation authorizes the CEC to conduct a draw for all 225 electoral districts and also allows the conduct of separate draw for each of the 225 electoral districts.

According to Mahera, the CEC decided to hold the common draw for all 225 districts due to the limitation in time. "Formally, it was possible to conduct the draw for each district separately, but in fact, the CEC did not have much time to form district electoral commissions," he said.

The CEC member added that few days time is needed to hold the draw for each district separately. "We would not physically squeeze into a two-day period, in which we need to form district electoral commissions".
