The High Specialized Court for Civil and Criminal Cases upheld the sentence to former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in gas case.
Thus the court dismissed the complaint of Tymoshenko’s defense, in which they asked to recognize the decision of the Pechersk district court and the Kyiv Court of Appeal illegal and to close the case due to the absence of elements of crime in Tymoshenko’s actions.
As a reminder, on October 11, 2011, the Pechersk district court of Kyiv sentenced Tymoshenko to seven years of imprisonment for abuse of power when signing gas contracts with Russia in 2009.
The Court of Appeal upheld the sentence, and then the cassation appeal was filed.
