The first houses under the Affordable Housing program will be put into operation in the autumn of 2013 in the six largest cities of Ukraine, vice Prime Minister, Infrastructure minister Borys Kolesnikov said during his working visit to Finland.

"At least, the program covers Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv - the major cities of our country," Kolesnikov said.

According to him, it is assumed that the affordable housing will be sold at 3.5% per year: at 3% - apartments up to 60 square meters, at 5% - the larger apartments.

"According to the optimistic forecasts, these houses may appear in October-November 2013. If the housing is sold at more than 3-5% per annum and for longer than 12 years, no one will buy it. The apartment should cost up to 6 thousand UAH per square meter and be fully completed," Kolesnikov said.

According to the vice Prime Minister, every Ukrainian will afford buying economy-class apartments. The procedure is very simple: a citizen, having chosen an apartment, submits the required documents to the bank, pays 10-30% of cost of housing (initial installment) and receives the keys immediately.
