The Constitutional Court of Ukraine recognized the bill on abolishment of the parliamentary immunity as constitutional.
In particular, the Constitutional Court declared that the bill on amendments to the Constitution, providing for limited immunity, as well as the exclusion of deprivation presidential rank in case of impeachment, corresponds to the requirements of the Articles 157 and 158 of the Constitution.

The conclusion on the draft law of the parliamentary majority was announced by deputy chairman of the CC Serhiy Vinokurov at the meeting of the Court.

As a reminder, the bill proposes to exclude from the current wording of the Constitution the part one of Article 80, which states that "the MPs of Ukraine are guaranteed parliamentary immunity," and to edit the part three of this article, according to which "the MPs cannot be detained or arrested before the entry into force of a guilty verdict without the consent of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine". In the part three of the Article 105 it is suggested to exclude the words "unless the President has been removed from office by impeachment."
