In Ukraine, the number of kindergartens has increased by 650 for two years, education minister Dmytro Tabachnyk said at the meeting of the Board of the Education and Science, Youth and Sports Ministry of Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reports.
"During the first half of 2012, 199 pre-school institutions were opened or renewed their work. Taking into account additional groups, to date the number of children covered by preschool education, increased by 171 thousand, compared to 2009," he said.
According to him, today, 1 million 385 thousand children receive pre-school education. "We hope that we will forget about queues for kindergartens," Tabachnyk said.
The minister also noted that in recent years, Ukraine has seen population growth, so the number of kindergartens should be increased.
