Limiting cash payments to solve Ukrainian economy problems
Establishing the maximum amount of cash payments for goods and services corresponds to the world experience and will allow combating the shadow economy effectively, president of the Ukrgasbank Serhiy Mamedov said in the interview with the Evening Kyiv newspaper.
"In the developed countries there are certain limitations of cash handling. There, people rarely pay cash. This system has proved to be effective in terms of achieving transparency of the financial market, and most importantly - fair taxation. It is important to establish an adequate amount, which should not be too low, but reasonable in the interests of maximum transparency of trade and financial transactions. In this context, the bill on priority development of cashless payments, adopted by the Parliament in the first reading, looks quite appropriate.
The president of the Ukrgasbank generally described the process of limiting cash payments as an effective step in combating traditional negative phenomena of the Ukrainian economy, as 30-50% of business remain in the "shadow", Serhiy Mamedov noted.
