President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych calls upon church representatives to cooperate with the authorities in the name of society.
"Here there are representatives of Ukrainian churches and religious organizations, prominent representatives of our intelligentsia. I call upon all of you to join efforts to work together for the people, for the spiritual purification of the society," Yanukovych said, ForUm correspondent reports.
He noted that churches, intelligentsia and authorities must teach people to be patriots and support civil activity, which in its turn must be realized through concrete deeds for the benefit of Ukraine.
"We must remember that spiritual unity of the people and establishment of moral principles are necessary conditions for full-fledged process of the development of the state and modern democratic changes. This is our common responsibility," Yanukovych noted.
