The main factor of assessment of the local government activities is the people's trust and consolidation around a common cause, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych said during a meeting with the candidates for the offices of chairpersons of district state administrations, ForUm learned from the press service of the head of state.
"The people's trust is the main factor that evaluates each of you," the President said. He paid special attention to the fact that the local authorities are obliged to organize their work for national unification.
The President stressed that the duty of the local authority is providing the citizens with information about the development plans of localities and regions. "The local authority has to consult with people, work with community organizations, media and know the views of the public," he said.
