The bill by the government on equating the 85-years-old war veterans to the disabled veterans of group I and strengthening their social protection was registered in the Verkhovna Rada.
The bill is to amend the law of Ukraine on the status of war veterans and guarantees of their social security (with respect to the combatants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War).
Implementation of the law will require the allocation of 300 million UAH from the state budget.
The law is planned to come into force on January 1, 2013.
