Dismissal of the first deputy social policy minister Vasyl Nadraha was not caused by student protests against the reduction of scholarships, vice prime minister – social policy minister Serhiy Tihipko told ForUm after the Cabinet’s meeting.
"Once the Cabinet prepared a decision, which was effective for one week and then was amended. This decision concerned scholarships. There was not a decrease but an offer to count scholarships in the first year of studying under a different methodology. Cabinet has already dealt with it, it was corrected," Tihipko said.
In his view, the dismissal of Nadraha has nothing to do with this decision. "Nadraha left voluntary the post of first deputy social policy minister," he said.
