FC Dynamo Kyiv won the first match of the Champions League play-off round against Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1. Now Ukrainian team has good chances to get into the group stage.
The start of the match was not very good for Dynamo. Already in the 13th minute Arango shot into the near corner. But from the middle of the first half, the Kyiv team managed to change the game. At the 28th minute Taras Mihalik with a powerful blow shot the ball into the net.
In eight minutes the Dynamo went ahead. Andriy Yarmolenko shot into the near corner bottom.
In the second half, the team of Yuri Semin quite confidently controlled the game. After the break, the Borussia were not good in attack. And in the 81 th minute after a free kick by Miguel Veloso, German club striker Luc de Jong sent the ball into his own net and set the final score in this meeting.
The return match between the Dynamo and the Borussia is to be held on August 29 in Kyiv.
