The Pechersk district court of Kyiv recognized the ex-interior minister Yuriy Lutsenko guilty of official negligence.
According to the court sentence, Lutsenko, without checking the legality of acts, adopted unreasonable resolution on the extension of the investigation into the poisoning of ex-President Viktor Yushchenko. The court sentenced Lutsenko to two years of imprisonment.
This decision was announced by the presiding judge in the case Hanna Medushevska.
The court found the evidences in the case files those which fully confirm the guilt of the defendant. The Court found the state of health Lutsenko as a mitigating circumstance.
