President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych instructed the local authorities of Sevastopil together with the Cabinet of Ministers, in particular the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, to prepare a program of economic, environmental and social development of the city and include it in the program of Crimea development until 2015.
"I would like you to systematically approach to the number of issues," Yanukovych said during the meeting with the activists of the city, ForUm learned from the President’s press office.
The President expressed his conviction that the city of Sevastopil, being the city with a special status and one of the recreation centers in Crimea should be actively developed.
In particular, according to Yanukovych, there must be created the conditions for its economic development, development of the infrastructure of the city and surrounding areas, appropriate conditions for recreation.
"Areas of industry and agriculture, conditioned by geographical and climatic location of the region, form the main strategic directions of their development," President said, stressing that there should be a clear plan for construction and development of the city.
"We need to develop a general plan of the city of Sevastopil and its surrounding areas ... We need to define priorities - that is the most important thing we need to do first," said the President.
