President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych noted the importance of ensuring free expression of the will of citizens and conducting fair and democratic parliamentary elections in October this year.
"I want to encourage you that you give people the opportunity and created all the conditions so that people can make their choice. We should not put pressure on people," Yanukovych said.
The President expressed his confidence that the government should be maximally open before people, gaining their trust during the electoral process.
In particular, the President considers necessary to analyze the situation in the country - what goals were achieved by the government and what were not. "We should tell truth to people," Yanukovych said.
According to him, such an analysis is some kind of audit, evaluation of the recent period. "Of course, people are the best auditors," the President said.
