The military men and special equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were involved in combating forest fires that occurred in Kherson region.
Defense minister Dmytro Salamatin, staying directly in the area of forest fire, decreed the involvement of helicopters, engineer equipment, special fire trucks and other units in putting out the fire as well as the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Defense Ministry press office informed.
"The paratroopers, personnel and engineer special equipment of army aviation and mechanized brigades were involved in combating fire," the report says.
In general, more than 440 soldiers and 93 pieces of equipment from the composition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were involved in putting out and elimination of forest fires.
