"Now the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is not aware of any evidences of these confirmations, which are dissonant with the constructive spirit of the Ukrainian-Russian strategic partnership," the Foreign Ministry said commenting on the statements of spokesman Volodymyr Markyn toward the information that Ukrainian contractors discredited the Russian soldiers during the war in South Ossetia in 2008.
In this regard, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine does not intend to comment on the statement of "the official of a mid-tier structure that has no authority to disclose statements of foreign policy."
The Foreign Ministry added that in Ukraine, as in any civilized country, the mercenary activities are defined as a crime under the national legislation, and therefore persons who committed this crime must be punished.
