The General Prosecutor's Office investigator can develop materials and institute new proceedings against the former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma, first deputy Prosecutor General of Ukraine Renat Kuzmin said in the interview.

"The court found that the case against Kuchma was instituted without sufficient grounds. This means that the investigator now has the opportunity to develop the materials and gather at this time sufficient grounds to initiate new criminal proceedings against Kuchma," Kuzmin said.

According to him, the investigator may proceed conducting already initiated investigation, taking into account the mistakes pointed out by the court.

Kuzmin also mentioned that the recordings made by former Major of the State Guard Mykola Melnychenko in Kuchma's office and made public in 2000 are important, but not the main evidences in the Kuchma’s case. "There are other evidences also," he said.
