The Central Election Commission has registered the MP candidates on "Batkivshchyna" party list, excluding Yulia Tymoshenko and Yuri Lutsenko from it.

Deputy head of the CEC Janna Usenko-Chernaya informed that Batkivshchyna" party submitted the list with 225 candidates and all necessary documents on August 3. However, the personal data of candidates Tymoshenko and Lutsenko has records of conviction.

According to the official, the CEC has no right to estimate the motives of convictions, whether they are "politically motivated", as stated in the documents, or not. "Hence, according to the law, the CEC cannot register candidates with uncleared convictions, and Tymoshenko and Lutsenko cannot run for the parliament at these elections," Usenko-Chernaya explained.

The official also informed that CEC earlier excluded from the list 13 candidates due to lack of proper documents, and the total number of candidates from "Batkivshchyna" party amounts to 210 politicians.

After the exclusion of Tymoshenko and Lutsenko, who held the first and the fifth places on the list respectively, the top 10 includes Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Anatoly Hrytsenko, Oleksandr Turchynov, Vyacheslav Kyrylenko, Hryhoriy Nemyria, Serhiy Sobolev, Borys Tarasiuk, Mykola Tomenko, Mykola Knyazhytski, Mustafa Jemilyov.
