Since July 16, the decisions to issue British visas for Ukrainians will be taken in Poland.

The relevant message is posted on the official website of the Home Office of the United Kingdom.

"From 16 July 2012 all UK visa applications submitted in Ukraine will be decided at the UK Border Agency regional hub in Warsaw," the message says.

It notes that the visa application process for customers in Ukraine will not change. Ukrainians can continue to submit applications on-line through the visa4UK website.

The applicants will then book an appointment to submit their documents to the visa application centre operated by the VFS company in Kyiv. The applicants should remember to submit English translations of all supporting documents. In order to keep costs to a minimum for applicants, certified translations are not required.

"However, translations are checked for accuracy by UK Border Agency staff," the message says.
It is also mentioned that there will be no additional cost for sending documents to Warsaw and then back to Kyiv. The Office is to process 90 per cent of non-settlement applications within 15 working days of submission at the visa application centre in Kyiv.
"An application can be accepted up to 3 months in advance of the proposed date of travel," the message emphasizes.

The Home Office underlines that the decision was taken to provide customers with a more effective and flexible visa service with more consistent customer standards and decision quality.
