Meeting the deputy president of the China Development Bank Li Jiping, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov has suggested considering a possibility of opening of a bank representative office in Ukraine.
"Representative offices of almost all big world banks work now in Ukraine. It is impossible to carry out big projects otherwise. If we speak about long-term cooperation I would suggest opening of your own representative office here," Azarov said.
The PM added that the credit line of the China Development Bank exceeds annual credit portfolios of the World Bank, EBRD and European investment bank rolled into one.
In his turn, Li Jiping said he would put this question for consideration to the Bank's board of directors, but consent of the licensing authorities of China is also required.
As a reminder, the China Development Bank has agreed to grant Ukraine a credit for 3.656 billion dollars to carry out a project on replacement Russia gas with Ukrainian coal.
