Oleksiy Torokhtiy won a weightlifting gold medal for Ukraine on Monday in the 105-kilogram category.
In the last round of finals, Torokhtiy lifted 227 kilograms and, scoring 412 points, became Olympics gold winner. He scored just one 1 kilo more than silver medalist Navab Nasirshelal of Iran.
Poland’s Bartlomiej Bonk got bronze at 410 kilograms.
Another Ukrainian Serhiy Tahirov ranked the tenth.
Now, Ukraine team has three gold medals and 6 bronze medals, taking 16 place in the team overall ranking.
