It is the first time for many years that the birth rate has exceeded the death rate in Ukraine, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov said in his interview with the country's central TV channels.
"This is a very positive fact. The figures may not be very impressive, 14 thousand for example, but each number stands for a human life," Azarov said.
As a reminder, according to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the population of Ukraine decreased by 7 thousand people in May, as of June 1, 2012 , the population of Ukraine amounted 45 million 565 thousand 909 people.
