For the last two years the economy of Ukraine has increased by 12.5% after a serious fall in 2009 and almost returned to the pre-crisis level, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov told the country's central TV channels.
Azarov noted that the economic growth went on against the background of the ongoing financial and economic crisis and the weakening of the situation in the euro area.
"We all remember that 2009 was a year of the production decline and the budget deficit. For these two years, the economy has grown by 12.5% and almost returned to the pre-crisis level. So the government has managed to stabilize the situation, to develop the country under difficult conditions, while the economic and financial crisis continues around the world," the Prime Minister said.
