The trade turnover between Ukraine and Belarus in January-June 2012 increased by 1.4 times compared to the same period last year and amounted to 3.63 billion USD, the press-secretary of the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus Alexei Yemelyanenko reported.

"Exports of Ukrainian products to Belarus amounted to 977.3 million USD, imports of Belarusian products to Ukraine for the six months of 2012 amounted to 2.652 billion USD, considering Ukraine’s 1.675 billion dollars credit balance," Yemelyanenko said.

In 2011, trade turnover between the countries reached a record high of 6 billion USD, having surpassed the pre-crisis 5 billions in 2008.

Ukraine traditionally supplies Belarus with metal, ferrous metals, electricity, oilcake, sunflower oil, corn, wagons.

The main commodity groups for imports of Belarusian products to Ukraine in recent years are mainly oil products and agricultural machinery, trucks, tires, refrigerators and buses.
