Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov is satisfied with the speed of bridges’ construction across the Dnieper river in Zaporizhya, he said during his working visit to Zaporizhya, the press service of the Cabinet told ForUm.

The Prime Minister has learns about the construction progress of bridges across the Dnieper river including the erection of bridge tower at the construction №10 (cable-stayed bridge across Dnieper), the building works at the construction №6 (overpass) and the turning circle construction under it.

"I am pleased to note that the measures we have taken give the result. One year ago, we took a decision to transfer this bridge under the supervision of the State Road Agency of Ukraine as the main builder and executor of works. We all see that the works are carried out intensively, and the plans on opening traffic on the bridge by the yearend are quite real," Azarov noted.

He added that the government would finance the construction of this difficult complex.

"This bridge is a unique engineering structure. We have to build it qualitatively and in time. It is extremely important," the PM said.

In turn, the chairman of the State Road Agency of Ukraine Volodymyr Demishkan noted that the construction of the overpass and the turning circle under it will be completed by the end of November this year. The first section of the bridge will be put into operation by the end of 2012.
