The Emergencies Ministry of Ukraine held an interagency conference call on preventing and combating fires in natural ecosystems.

As the Emergencies Ministry press service reports, during the meeting, the first deputy minister Vitaly But urged all the participants of the conference call to take additional measures to prevent forest fires. According to him, especially complicated situation is observed today in Crimea, Kherson, Luhansk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolayiv and Sumy regions.

"It is necessary to limit at most the public access and the entry of vehicles to forest area, starting from August 1 until the further notice. I appeal to the heads of regional commissions for technogenic and ecological safety and emergencies with a request to arrange timely all the necessary measures to restrict people's access to forests. This work should be conducted by the forestry workers, police and internal forces officer," But said.

In addition, the first deputy minister appealed to the representatives of the local authorities and the State Forestry Administration with a request to assist in solving current problems by providing the land forces and fire aircraft, involved in combating forest fires, with fuel and lubricants, food and assist in their placement.
