The Healthcare Ministry of Ukraine thanked the German doctors, who recommended bed rest for the former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
"The international commission composed of the professors of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine and three doctors from Germany, engaged in the rehabilitation of Tymoshenko in Ukrzaliznytsya central medical hospital, held its meeting. The issues of treatment were discussed," deputy healthcare minister Rayisa Moiseenko told a press briefing, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to Moiseenko, only professional issues were discussed during the meeting.
"We cannot define the term of further rehabilitation and therapeutic measures as "a week or two weeks or two weeks and one day" since we do not have any specific recommendations from German doctors," she said.
"Neither the Ukrainian nor the German doctors have influence on the issue of security ensured by the penitentiary service. This issue is beyond our competence. We consider necessary to restrict the endless visits of politicians, MPs, European MPs. They want to show their concern, but a person in a hospital must have a rest. I thanked the German doctors for this prescription. If it was recommended by the Ukrainian doctors, nobody would believe them," Moiseenko said.
