The speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Volodymyr Lytvyn is not satisfied with the law on the principles of the national language policy considering it obviously unfeasible.

"To make the decision or not to make it is not a point. The matter is what would be the content of this decision. The law must be feasible," he said at the XII Congress of the People's Party of Ukraine, ForUm correspondent reports.

Lytvyn mentioned that he is not looking for someone to accuse of the situation with this bill. In his opinion, the main task for today is to minimize the possible negative consequences of the language law adoption.

In addition, the speaker said that he had discussed the law with the President. He showed the President a number of its legal drawbacks. In particular, the bill erodes the legal basis of the state language, elevates the Russian language above the state one and does not guarantee the protection of other languages.
