On July 30, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych signed the law on amendments to certain laws of Ukraine regarding the registration of place of residence and place of stay of individuals within Ukraine. The law abolishes the registration of place of residence of individuals, ForUm learned from the President’s press office.
In particular, the law provides for the Internal Ministry to establish the procedure of registration. However, the goal of creating the database of the entire population of Ukraine, the purpose of using such data and the mechanisms preventing from unauthorized access to the database and misuse of information have not established yet.
