As there are still Ukrainian citizens in Syria, Ukraine has no plans to evacuate its diplomats and close its embassy in this country, the Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Dikusarov reported.
"Our diplomats must remain in Syria, as there are Ukrainian citizens who need help. So the embassy works in the usual mode there and makes lists of the citizens to bring back to Ukraine," Dikusarov said.
He recalled that last week 62 Ukrainians were evacuated from Syria. "Some officials must stay there to continue making lists and contact people," he added.
Dikusarov noted that while there are Ukrainian citizens in Syria, the embassy will work.
