President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych held a short meeting in Donetsk with the leadership of the region, ForUm learned from the President’s press service.
Chairman of Donetsk Regional State Administration Andriy Shyshatsky informed the President of the current economic situation in the region and the course of solving the pressing issues of social development and welfare of the Donetsk region residents.
The participants paid special attention to the progress of harvest campaign. In this context, Yanukovych praised thresh of the first million tons of grain by the Donetsk region farmers.
The President stressed the importance of ensuring the fire preventive measures during the harvest campaign by the local authorities.
After the meeting, Yanukovych intends to visit the graves of his relatives in Yenakiyevo village.
